oil painters watching watercolourists and acrylic painters pour cadmium, titanium, lead, copper sulphates, etc. down the sink because they equate being water soluble with being non toxic:

For anyone worrying about the paints they used in school or lessons: If your teacher did not warn you about the chemicals in the paint it is likely that those classes used NON TOXIC paints suitable for use by younger people and beginners. Non toxic paint does exist and it is widely used!

However: when you upgrade to using actual pigments [like Cadmium Yellow instead of your beginner's "Yellow Paint"] that is when you have to start being mindful of the chemical pigments. Just because something is water soluble does NOT mean it's ok to dump into the water system. Go online and find out how to dispose of these chemicals properly!

i absolutely love seeing people’s reactions to the pink mosque 😂

the style is called “orsi” and is unique to iran

and stained glass traces its roots to south west and west asia, developed in ancient times and well before the europeans and the roman empire saw it and said “hey i like that, i’ll be leaving with it”

yes, these are real places! it’s a different mosque in the same city as the first picture (the shah cheragh mosque in shiraz)

every time someone tries to talk to me about western churches and architecture and their superiority to that of “third world countries” i have to laugh a little at the ignorance, especially when our mosques look like this
